Community Garden

Serving God through – Community

Community Garden Before

Area before beds put in

Take a stroll along Duval Street just across from the library and notice the four raised beds.

In Spring 2011 Trinity members along with the help of four homeless veterans from Veteran’s Village built a community garden on the church property. Within weeks the garden was thriving! Tomatoes, peppers, okra, eggplant, cucumbers, zucchini, squash and an herb bed were planted for our first crop. Harvest was shared with church and community.

In Fall 2011 a second crop was planted. This time spinach, collard greens, turnip greens, mix salad greens, broccoli and cauliflower were among the plants found in the beds.  A drip irrigation systems was also installed to make watering more efficient.

In March 2012 new summer crops were planted and the irrigation system was updated using funds which come from the donations made to the BFC Series Exercise classes.

This season a group of ten church members has volunteered to maintain the garden on a rotating basis. If you’d like to join the group to help our garden grow, please e-mail below for more information.  Be sure to bring your own garden tools, hat, sunscreen etc.
