Walk to Bethlehem

Serving God Through – Self

Once a year Trinity invites all walkers to Walk to Bethlehem. The journey is 6,551 miles from Tallahassee to Bethlehem.  Each participant wears a pedometer every day and logs all their steps.  Steps from all participants are collected weekly, and totals are tallied.  Each year the group walks to Bethlehem and back.  The group also reads the same daily devotional, and logs inspirational thoughts.   The goal over the course of the journey is to develop the good habits of daily walking and daily devotional reading.

There are two ways to participate, either in person or via e-mail. One groups meets once a week at the church and walks together around downtown Tallahassee. One group participates via e-mail only.  Both groups wear their pedometers every day.

In 2010, the group walked in 14,800 miles. In 2011 the group walked 16,000 miles.  The next Walk to Bethlehem will begin in fall 2012.
