Young Adults & Young Families

Welcome back College Students!

Each August,TrinityUnitedMethodistChurchlooks forward to the return of college students to our area.  Our church is in downtownTallahassee, very close to FSU and FAMU.  We invite you to make us your church home.  Please explore our web-site, particularly this area & other ways to connect & serve.  As we have a great relationship with the Music Departments at the Universities, we also encourage you to check out our Music Ministries area.

Trinity’s “Blend” of Young Adult Life

If you are visiting this section of our web-site, you are more than likely one of the many who fall into this myriad group called “Young Adult.”  We are well aware how difficult it is to define this group: people somewhere between 20- and 40-years old in the midst of  a great deal of transitional yet important moments in life.  Some are college students, grad-students, professionals, not-quite-professionals, single, married, kids , no kids, etc.,  etc.  We recognize that while everyone may be in the same relative age-group, there are many different needs to be served and strengths with which people can serve.

The emphasis of this group is on building community through study, service, and social activities.  There are many things that overlap among the various life-stages of this group, and so we welcome any and all to be a part.  Nevertheless, there are some significant differences among the life-stages, and so we encourage everyone to respect the specific nature of ministry when it is sometimes offered.  We invite you to peruse the various aspects of this ministry and feel free to connect in whatever ways suit you best.

Education & Discipleship

All of the Sunday School classes at Trinity are open to everyone, giving you freedom to find a group and area of study that will serve you best.  Please visit our Sunday School Page for a complete listing of classes offered.  However, here are two classes that are typically attended by people within this group:

  • Young Adult Bible Study (Conference Room)

The class is currently studying “Christianity’s Family Tree.”

  • Empowering Parents Class (Room 305)

They study the same topics as the children’s curriculum “Live B.I.G.” but from an adult perspective. This is a great group for parents of elementary and preschool parents to get to know and support each other while keeping up with what their children are learning in their classes

  •  Small Group Studies

There are also a great number of small-group and home-studies that are offered at Trinity.  Please visit the “Education & Discipleship” page within our “Community” area for a detailed list, as well as the ones described in the more specific pages of this section.

Typically, a significant transition to this group is with the birth of children. Again, while there is a great deal of interaction among all members of this group, we do offer some distinction as it is sometimes necessary.

Trinity Young Adults (Adults Before Children)

This group of young adults welcomes new members all the time.  They have adopted the rather tongue-in-cheek title of “Adults Before Children.”  It is a very mixed group of singles, engaged-to-be-married’s, marrieds, professionals, students, etc. etc. Learn More

Young Family Ministry

What an amazing and wondrous gift it is to be blessed with a family.  They say it takes a village to raise a family.  Here at Trinity we couldn’t agree more. Your church family is a vital resource to raise a whole & healthy family.  In addition to the “Children’s Ministry” area of our site, please visit the “Young Family” section for more specific ministry to the families.Learn More
