After 58 plus years as a member of Trinity, the church is like family to me–the family of God. Here my children were baptized, nurtured in kindergarten, Sunday school, youth programs. My husband and I have grown spiritually from Sunday school classes, worship services, Lay Academy; learned leadership while participating in almost every committee and organization of the church; had opportunities to provide service, witnessing and giving that are the tenets of the Christian faith. Trinity surrounds us with fellowship and the love of God.

Trinity is like a big family. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ and together we grow in our faith and in relationship to one another. It’s home.
Warren and Rita May
As a student in the FSU College of Music, Warren was well aware of the great tradition of music ministry at Trinity. It was then that he joined Trinity and was active in the musical life of the church. After a number of years living in other cities and countries, Warren met Rita on a visit to Tallahassee… and we soon were married! Both of our parents were members of Trinity, and again it was the music ministry that beckoned us. We found a welcoming and socially active church, committed to carrying out God’s work in Tallahassee and beyond. We joined the choir and, over the years, we both found other ministries that “fit” — outreach ministries that are both diverse and meaningful for us. We have forged wonderful friendships at Trinity; we are regulars at Wednesday night dinners; we participate in stimulating (and fun) Lay Academy classes and small groups; and we participate in Sunday worship, led by our top-notch pastors. Through purposeful participation in the full array of offerings at Trinity, we have certainly deepened our faith and enriched our lives. We found a church home where we can nurture and grow our faith, while we in turn support others in their faith journeys.

A Tallahassee city tour made me aware of Trinity’s progressive heritage. The cultural and historical aspects of the church lead me to join. The moment I entered the doors I felt welcomed and knew this would be my church home. The weekly sermons and Sunday school start my week and strengthen my spiritual growth.

I came to Trinity by marrying my husband, Steve Denmark who grew up in this church. I have come to love Trinity, the people and the ministries. There are so many ways to be involved and to serve God. Trinity is big on supporting the local charities/agencies in Tallahassee; the ones that help those in need. I would have never known where to start or how to get involved in our community if it were not for Trinity. It is so rewarding to help those that are less fortunate than me, and I will always be grateful for Trinity leading and training me in that way.

I have been attending Trinity United Methodist Church since November, 2008. I have enjoyed the church very much. While it is a large church, the people are very friendly and there are many different types of activities. Wayne and Tony, the ministers, are very people friendly and wonderful. The music program with Mark is superb! There are a number of different groups, including not only the choirs, but also instruments like the trumpet, flute, and drums, as well as the bell and chime choirs. I feel that it is an environment that nurtures one’s spiritual growth. I highly recommend this church.

Trinity is a church that values heritage, tradition and worship. My husband and I were married in the Methodist Church in Largo, Florida, by our Pastor David Hortin in 1970.
One day, after about 25 years of our involvement in other denominations, we realized that David Hortin was the Pastor at Trinity United Methodist in Tallahassee, where we were living. We decided to pay the church a visit. The minute we walked in the door we knew that we were home. We all agreed as a family to move our memberships to Trinity and reunite there. It was not long before my parents joined us. We were welcomed back to Methodism and immediately put to work, John as a trustee and me as Spiritual Growth and Outreach Chair.
Two years later we added another member to our family- our Associate Pastor, Mark Caldwell, when he married our daughter, Tiffany! Since then our son, Matt and his wife Leslie were married at Trinity and are active members, along with their two children. After Mark and Tiffany were married, the Lord moved them south, and Mark is now the Senior Pastor at First United Methodist of Ft. Lauderdale, with their twin boys. There is no perfect church, but Trinity is strong and healthy, and open to the move of the Holy Spirit. The Trinity congregation values family, forgiveness, grace and faith and has many unique opportunities for serving to suit the needs and Spiritual gifts of her members. We love our church and love to invite friends and acquaintances to come and worship with us there.

I came to Trinity for the worship services – which are great with wonderful music and thought provoking sermons. But, once I became more involved in the life of the church through group studies during Lent, and Bible study through Disciple class, I realized there was more to growing my faith than attending worship. Trinity offers so many opportunities for personal growth and service to others. My wife and I have our son in the Trinity Preschool too.
