Boys’ Choir of Tallahassee

The Boys’ Choir of Tallahassee is an after school choir program for at risk boys in the Tallahassee community. Coordinated by a Professor of Social Work at F.S.U., this program strives to help students maintain grades, teaching strong discipline, and requiring high standards for all choir members. Trinity has provided support to this group from its inception.

Neighborhood Health Services

Neighborhood Health Services provides medical services to clients free of charge, targeting the homeless and the uninsured. The clinic is staffed by medical professionals who volunteer their time. It is located in the old Lincoln High School facility.

Hope Community

The Hope Community, whose facilities are currently under construction, is a center designed to empower those who are homeless to become self-sufficient through a comprehensive array of services, including independent housing. The goal of the Community is to end homelessness, one person at a time.

Community Christmas Dinner

Trinity has coordinated the Community Christmas Dinner for the past fifteen years. Volunteers from Trinity and throughout the community come together to serve dinner. Trinity provides the food, favors, and entertainment for all people in our community who would like to celebrate the Christmas holiday with a caring group. It is held in Moor Hall on Christmas Day, beginning at 12:00 noon. Come have Christmas Dinner with us!

Kate Sullivan Elementary School “Crocodilian” Project

Trinity has had a long and successful relationship with Kate Sullivan School. Back when the “Church with a Heart for the City” initiative was first being talked about, Kate Sullivan School was one of the first places suggested for a community partnership. Trinity helps Kate Sullivan School by donating school supplies at the start of each school year. The congregation also helps Kate Sullivan through the reading mentoring program called Reading All-Stars. Call 222-1120 for more information.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity builds Habitat houses in the Tallahassee Community. Trinity works in partnership with other area Methodist churches to build Habitat houses each year in this vital community ministry.

Big Bend Cares/Canopy Connections

Big Bend Cares is a non-profit organization which provides support and services to people living with HIV/AIDS. The mission includes fighting AIDS, compassionate medical care and support groups for infected individuals, testing, community health education, and risk reduction programs. Canopy Connections, a part of Big Bend Cares, has among its goals education of the religious community and sponsoring a monthly meal for persons with HIV and their families/caregivers.

Refuge House

Refuge House provides direct services to battered women, their children, and assault survivors. Through outreach and educational program, this organization works to eliminate the conditions in society that allow such violence to continue.

Big Bend Hospice’s Children’s Program

The Caring Tree of Big Bend Hospice provides grief support services for children and teens. Its mission is to help young people face living with the loss of a loved one through illness, accident, violence, or suicide. Camp Woe-Be-Gone, Teen Woe-Be-Gone, school-based grief support groups, as well as children and teen evening support groups are among services provided.

ECHO

Echo Outreach Ministries provide people in need with food, shelter, clothing, financial assistance, and counseling. Through the help of our ECHO contributions, free Sunday lunches are served at First Presbyterian Church. In addition, ECHO has a transitional housing ministry housed in the Bethany Family Apartments.

Bear Sunday

Each year, Trinity identifies the community agencies which will be recipients of the hundreds of new bears donated by our congregation on “Bear Sunday” each February. This is a powerful ministry that touches the lives of many children.

The Shelter and the Women’s Shelter

Open 7 days a week, The Shelter provides a place for sleep as well as a place to get well-balanced meals for the homeless. Trinity provides, prepares, and serves the evening meal on the first, fourth, and  fifth Monday of each month. This ministry is supported by donations to the Good Samaritan Fund. Donate. Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of Tallahassee

Open weekday afternoons from 3-7 p.m., the Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs provide supervised study, tutoring, a computer lab program, and an out-door sports program to children in the Miccosukee community.

St. Patrick’s Day Downtown Festival

As an outreach activity, we participate with the Tallahassee Irish Society in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day . We sell traditional Irish food and hand out information about Trinity’s services and ministries. If you would like to help with this event, please contact the church office at 222-1120. Springtime Tallahassee

During Springtime Tallahassee, we offer free bottles of water and information about Trinity’s  ministries to individuals passing by our church. This year Springtime Tallahassee is Saturday, April 2nd. We will set up at 8:30 a.m. and close down at 2:00 p.m. If you would like to help with this event, please contact the church office.

Chelsea House

Chelsea House is a transitional Christian home for women. The home provides physical as well as emotional and spiritual support as residents work through a progressive program designed to establish stability and eventual independent living.  Chelsea House is part of the Good Samaritan Network, Inc., which is a faith-based ministry. Their goal is to reach out to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of women facing hardship.

The Chelsea House has recently opened a new outreach facility and thrift shop! They are located at 489 John Knox Road, between Steel City Restaurant and the Truesdell Aquatic Center in the log cabin across from the Tallahassee Mall.

Tallahassee Fuller Center for Housing

The Fuller Center for Housing is an ecumenical, Christian, non-profit organization dedicated to building and rehabilitating homes for people in need. The Fuller Center brings people of all faiths and backgrounds together in an unrelenting quest to provide safe, affordable housing for the world’s poor. Founded by Millard Fuller, who also founded Habitat for Humanity, the Fuller Center believes decent shelter should be a matter of conscience and action with people everywhere.

Elder Care Services

Elder Care Services, Inc. mission is to improve the quality of life for seniors, and they are the leaders in serving seniors in the Big Bend area.  As well as providing services that improve the quality of life for seniors, they also  actively advocate for seniors by working with others to fulfill unmet needs in the community.

A Women’s Pregnancy Center

A Women’s Pregnancy Center is a non-profit organization that provides free and confidential services to women and men facing possible unplanned pregnancy.  They can help, if you find yourself alone, scared and confused about options. In a time of crisis having someone to talk to is very important. A Women’s Pregnancy Center exists to equip women and men with the information and resources they need to make informed and confident decisions

The FSU Wesley Foundation

The FSU Wesley Foundation is a United Methodist campus ministry sponsored in full or part by the United Methodist Church.  It is a place for students to join other students on the same journey, seeking and finding God together. There are several ways for college students attending FSU and TCC to get involved.  They have Sunday services,  new student groups, Wednesday Community night, intramural sports, retreats, missions, and more.

FAMU Wesley Foundation

FAMU Wesley Foundation is a United Methodist campus ministry sponsored in full or part by the United Methodist Church. FAMU Wesley is a movement of, for, and with college students and young adults at Florida A & M University, whose mission is ”to equip a NOW generation of holistic servant leaders modeled after the life & ministry of Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit to manifest the Kingdom of God.”
