Getting to Know You
We are so grateful for the warm, gracious welcome you have given us!
Thank you! Beth and I already feel at home and we love living in
this beautiful city of Tallahassee.
One of the first things I want to
concentrate on is simply getting to know you. I want to be able to
look at you and call you by name.
I think that's important. I will
probably ask you numerous times to “tell me your name again,” so
please be patient with me. I promise to get it right soon! I also
think it is important for you to know each other. Although you may
have been around here for a long time, I suspect there are some
members of the church you don’t know. Or perhaps there are those you
sit by every Sunday in church, you knew their name at one time but
have since forgotten, and now you are too embarrassed to ask again.
Do you remember the theme from the
old television show “Cheers?”
Making your way in the world
today takes everything you’ve got.
Taking a break from your worries,
sure would help a lot.
Wouldn’t you like to get away?
Sometimes you want to go
where everybody knows your name,
and they’re always glad you came.
You want to be where you can see
our troubles are all the same.
You want to be where
everybody knows your name.
There’s a lot of truth in those
words. Don't you think your church should be that kind of place?
You Are Loved...
Greetings Trinity Family!
Rev. Tony Fotsch, Associate
Pastor
“We always thank God, the Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have
heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all
the saints…” (Col. 1:3-4)
Debbie and I are so grateful to
you all for the warm welcome and hospitality you’ve shown for us.
You know, when we told others about our potential appointment to
Trinity, every one of them was so excited for us and told us to jump
on it immediately. We can already see why. As Paul so eloquently
wrote to the Colossian church, we too feel the deep love you have
for those saints called to serve here. But, more deeply, we sense
the deeper faith in the Lord our God that pervades this place and
the people.
It's been a big year of “firsts”
for us: First year of marriage, first community that only knows us
as “Mr. & Mrs. Fotsch,” first appointment, first move, etc. etc. And
yet, we are so excited about all the new “firsts” that are to come
as we begin this journey together. Debbie and I are so honored to be
a part of the great history of faith and love in this our new family
and inspired by where that history will take us in the future.
"We are a community
of
Christian disciples building pathways through which
God's love is realized."
