Trinity United Methodist Church is looking for a part-time contemporary worship leader! Trinity offers three Sunday services, an 8:30AM and 11:00AM traditional service, and a 9:45AM contemporary service. The contemporary service, known as the Sun Service, is currently rebuilding after covid. Trinity is a very covid-conscious congregation, hoping to grow their online and in-person presence.

We are looking for a worship leader who is interested in being part of a very intentional, worshipful, growing community. A typical Sunday morning band consists of the worship leader and 1-3 band members, in an acoustic worship setting (i.e. keys, accounting guitar, viola/violin, small drum kit/cajon.)

Weekly Job Responsibilities:

⁃    planning Sun Service worship music

⁃    Prepare all musical parts for worship, so that music can be a non-distracting, seamless vessel of worship for those around you

⁃    Meeting/coordinating with Sun Service pastor to plan sermon series, music, scriptures, special elements, etc.

⁃    Communicate service order with pastor and staff members responsible for bulletin creation

⁃    Creation of PowerPoint that contains pre-service announcement slide loop, song lyrics, announcement slides, sermon slides, and any other pastor-requested elements

⁃    Scheduling of/communication with all volunteers (lyric slide presenter, sound engineer, band members and live stream engineer)

⁃    Lead band rehearsal (either Wednesday Night or early Sunday Morning with all band members)

⁃    Maintain relationships with volunteers and congregation

Other Responsibilities:

⁃    Monthly financial reports and receipt turn ins

  ⁃    Time sheet submission

⁃    Maintenance of all equipment, replacing when needed

⁃    Coordinating space set up, and changing periodically (with liturgical calendar and/or sermon series)

⁃    Recruitment of volunteers to play in the band/serve in the sound booth

Preferred Skills & Experience:

⁃    2+ years of experience leading worship

⁃    Strong ability to lead vocally and from a chord based instrument simultaneously (multi-instrumentalists strongly preferred)

⁃    Experience in an administrative/organizational role

⁃    Strong skills with PowerPoint/slide design software (such as Canva, Adobe programs, etc.)

⁃    Investment in your personal relationship with Christ and the church, and a willingness to participate in the life of Trinity

Please send a resume and a video example of you leading worship (recording in front of a live audience in a church service setting preferred, but if that isn’t possible, a recording of you singing and playing in a private setting will be sufficient!) to [email protected]
