There are many opportunities for giving comfort to others by providing delicious food. HEO prepares and freezes simple meals that are delivered when a baby is born or in a time of need and hosts light fare receptions after funeral services.
Trinity Chefs
Overview: Preparation of Meals that can be frozen for later delivery to Trinity members when a new baby is born or in time of need.

Specific Responsibilities: Volunteers prepare, cook, and store food in the HEO freezer.
Time Commitment: Trinity Chefs meets on the third Thursday of the month at 10:00 A.M. in the church kitchen, September through May. If you cannot come to the church to cook with us, you can prepare your own dishes in freezer safe containers, labeled with the date, description, and preparation instructions to leave in the HEO freezer in the church kitchen at your convenience.
Skills Needed: No culinary skills are required – just clean hands!
Supplies Needed: The church supplies the recipes, tools and all ingredients.
Donations Needed: The cost per meal is about $10. We serve about 8 families a month throughout the year. In recent years, HEO has spent roughly $1,000 – $1,200 per year on this ministry. Monetary contributions to Trinity’s HEO ministries are greatly appreciated.
Funeral Reception Assistance
Overview: Trinity is often asked to host light-fare receptions for member families and friends after funeral services.

Specific Responsibilities: A team of volunteers is needed for the following:
- Help prepare and serve food and drinks
- Set-up and clean-up reception rooms for these events, often during the week and on somewhat short notice
- Gracious hosts making family and friends feel welcome
- Clearing plates, and directing foot traffic
Time Commitment: Varies. Usually 1-2 hours per event.
Skills Needed: No special skills required. You can work in the kitchen preparing trays of goodies and cutting fruit and/or out front serving punch and directing visitors to the restrooms. If you are unable to come to receptions but would like to help, you can make cookies, desserts or the like for the HEO freezer to have ready, or prepare fruit, cheese or sandwich trays for a specific event and drop them off at the church the day before or of the reception.
Supplies Needed: Cookies, desserts, prepared fruit trays, cheese trays, and sandwich trays can be donated for receptions.
Donations Needed: Costs for food, drink and paper goods vary widely based on number of guests and fare requested. Monetary contributions to Trinity’s HEO ministries are not required but are greatly appreciated.
