It’s always a good time to join NETkids. But, you may ask, “what is NETkids?”
NETkids is a program for children in grades K-5. They meet every Wednesday during the school year, from 3:15 – 5:30 p.m. Activities include supervised play on the playground, woodworking with Mr. Bill, model trains, crafts, choir practice, and depending on the year, African drums, steel pans, or bells for the 3rd-5th grade children.
The Alpha and Omega choirs perform at worship services and also take their music “on the road” to retirement homes usually around Thanksgiving and Christmas.
The new year is a perfect time to sign up your children! Contact Allison Corrigan (222-1120).
Preparing for this annual event is the major focus of our music groups this month. Sunday, January 28, at the 11 a.m. service, we try to get all of Trinity’s music groups to participate, from our youngest (Cherub Choir) to our oldest (Heavenly Handchimes) and everything in between. Hopefully, we will have 13 – 14 music groups at that service, and we still usually finish by 12:10 p.m.!
This is a rare opportunity for all of Trinity’s musicians to participate in a worship service together.
Rev. Dr. Wayne Wyatt will preach briefly at the 11 a.m. service. The 8:30 and 9:45 a.m. services that day will hold normal church services with only the 11 a.m. service featuring all of the music groups.
If you are in 6th through 12th grade, you are just what we are looking for; come join us! We practice in the choir room on Sundays, 5:00-6:00 p.m., September through May. Most choir members go directly to Youth Group at the end of our rehearsals. In a typical year, numerous solo opportunities are available for those who want them. If you play an instrument, we often can include you in some of our music as well. Joining is easy: Simply come to one of our rehearsals and we will sign you up! Our group sings about once a month for worship services at the church. We sing at the Hanging of the Greens and the 5:30 p.m. Christmas Eve service. The choir also participates in Music Ministry Sunday. For more information, please email Lisa Prasse.
Youth Praise Band
Our Youth Praise Band leads the youth group in worship at their Sunday evening Youth time and select Sunday mornings at 11:00 worship. They also occasionally perform at special programs in the community.
If you would like more information on the Youth Praise Band, please email Lisa Prasse or call the church office 222-1120.
